Do you do all of the work?

As the owner and lead carpenter of Elephant Builders I do a lot of the work alongside our vetted crew.  We work as a team to ensure quality meets or exceeds industry best standards. We choose only to work with Sub-Contractors that have a good reputation, stick to the schedule, exercise great communication skills and provide a quality product and experience.


What if I want to make changes to the original contract?

Any work not specified in the original bid is not included in the total cost. However, plans are initially reviewed in detail and the scope of work is always clearly defined in the original bid. If you wish to make changes to the original contract we will evaluate the cost of the extra work on a time and material bases. Typically that extra work won’t be performed until a new written agreement/change order is executed.

Does my project require a permit?

If your deck is 30" above grade, then yes it does. Patio covers attached to homes always need one as well. We have a streamlined process to ensure a permit approval. We work closely with Structural and Geotechnical engineers to satisfy any Building Department issues.

Do you only work with composite decking?

Although we feel that Trex has the best composite decking on the market, we will install whatever decking you want, whether that's wood, pvc or composite.
